Argos Win

Des Moines, Iowa- Back to back wins for the Argos in day number one of the Grand View Tournament in Iowa gives UP a three-game win streak. Early Friday morning, Argos won a close contest against Ottawa University, (Kan) 3-2.

The second match for UP was a little easier battle as they defeated Saint Ambrose, (Iowa) 3-1 with scores of 25-19, 25-22, 27-29, 25-18. Head Coach Arunas Duda said Kelsey Shaver didn't play. "We didn't play Kelsey for the second match on Friday as she played every minute of our first round, (over Ottawa). We felt it best to rest her here and get her ready for the Viterbo match." Viterbo University is currently sitting number 4 in the top 25 polls, sixteen spots ahead of the University of Providence.

Leading the Argos to victory against Saint Ambrose was Tyna Williams with 12 kills and a .407 attack percentage. Avery Dyer had another fantastic match with 14 digs, 2 aces, and 2 assists. Rena Davis finished the match with 6 kills for the victory.

The Argos will play their third game of the tournament tomorrow, Saturday, at 10:30 AM.
