Great Falls, Mont. – The Cascade Conference announced that University of Providence goalie
Jenna Evertz has won the Conference Defender of the Week Award.
This past weekend, Evertz led the Argos to two straight shutouts on her way to winning her first game of her career. On Friday, the Argos defeated Corban University
2-0, and on Saturday they defeated Northwest Christian
7-0. She recorded seven saves vs. Corban and three saves vs. Northwest Christian.
"Jenna really stepped up and had a great performance," head coach
Brian Clarke said. "She had two really good games for us. She made a lot of good stops for us that had she not, it could have been a different game. I'm really proud of her and how she came out and all the things she's doing right now."
This is the first time Evertz has won the award. This is also only the third game she's played all season.
The Argos (3-5, 4-8) will travel to Oregon this weekend as they make a push to qualify for the postseason. They'll face Multnomah (0-6, 1-8) and Warner Pacific (2-4, 2-7).
