WHITEFISH, Mont. – Senior guard
Brandon Cotton was named the Frontier Conference Player of the Week.
Cotton averaged 18.5 points, 6.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds against Dixie State and Westminster. Cotton was 14 of 37 from the field, including 7 of 15 from beyond the arc.
"He had 19 in the first game and 18 the next," head coach
Steve Keller said. "The thing that I was most impressed with is that he had six assists both games. We've been trying to get him to get more assists. He did a better job of that this weekend."
Cotton was a big reason why the Argos defeated Division II program #22 Dixie State on the road Friday night.
"He's a big part of the program," Keller said. "He started for two years and averaged 17 a game. He carries a lot of our scoring, but we're also asking him to get more assists. He's been concentrating on that in both practice and games."
This is the second time an Argo has been named Frontier Conference Player of the Week.
Zaccheus Darko-Kelly was named the
Player of the Week on October 28.
"I think we have other guys that are capable too," Keller said. "We're proud that a couple of our guys have been recognized and we just hope we can get some more."
The Argos will return to Great Falls this weekend, when they take on Dickinson State on Friday night at 6 p.m. They will also play on Saturday at 6 p.m. against Northwest.
