GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's basketball team cruised to a 90-74 victory over Montana Western in their first conference road trip.
The Argos were aggressive defensively, forcing the Bulldogs into committing 20 turnovers. The Argos also outrebounded the Bulldogs.
"I thought we came out ready from the tip," head coach
Steve Keller said. "Defensively we were really good most of the game. We're playing good defense and that's led us to a ton of offense. It was a good team effort."
Zaccheus Darko-Kelly led the Argos with 23 points, 11 rebounds and three assists.
Rashee Stocks dropped 17 and
Joel Thabize chipped in 16.
James Jones led the Bulldogs with 30 points and 7 rebounds. Cedric Boone was the only other Bulldog in double figures with 12.
"It was a good team effort tonight," Keller said. "It's always nice to get a good conference road win. It was a total team effort and I like where we're at this point."
The Argos will travel to Phoenix for the Cactus Classic. They will face Marian University on Dec. 14 at 2 p.m.
