MEDFORD, Ore. – The 10
th-ranked Oregon Tech Owls (18-6) dealt Argo softball (0-4) a pair of defeats on Sunday afternoon.
GAME ONE – University of Providence 1 – Oregon Tech 17
How it Happened: The Owls got on the board at their first at-bat with a no-out solo homer to take a 1-0 lead. Oregon Tech produced a huge third inning to take an 8-0 lead. The Owls tallied their first run of the inning off an Argo error to push their lead to two. However, a pair of two-out 3-RBI home runs lifted the Owls to the eight-point lead. The Argos earned their sole run of the game in the bottom of the third.
Ashlee Anderson got things going with a one-out triple to get into scoring position.
Hanna Tarum plated Anderson on a Fielder's Choice to cut the deficit to seven, 8-1. Oregon Tech got across four more runners in the fourth inning as a pair of Argo errors moved across two runners and an Owl 2-RBI single plated the other two to put them up by 12, 13-1. The fifth inning saw four more runs for the Owls as a sacrifice fly and the Owl's fourth home run of the game would plate three more to the game's eventual 17-1 ending.
At the Plate: Anderson led the Argos with a pair of hits, going 2-for-3 and the Argos sole run of the game.
Karlie Southworth was perfect at the plate connecting on her one at-bat as she pinch hit for
Hannah VanDomelen.

Taylor Mathews, and
Hanna Tarum tallied the Argos other hits during the contest.
In the Circle: VanDomelen (0-2) pitched a complete game for the Argos, taking the loss as she allowed 17 runs on 13 hits through five innings pitched and tallying a season-high three strikeouts.
GAME TWO – University of Providence 0 – Oregon Tech 10
How it Happened: Oregon Tech opened things up with a two-out 2-RBI home run to take a 2-0 lead. The Owls broke things out in the second inning. With the bases loaded, Schweikert walked a batter to plate the Owls third run of the contest. An Argo error would give the Owls a 4-0 lead. The Owls closed the inning on some productive at-bats as a pair of singles would put across three runs, followed by a 2-RBI double to give Oregon Tech a 9-0 lead. The Owls would plate one more runner in the third inning on a passed ball to push the game to its eventual 10-0 finish.
At the Plate: Ashley Wood went 1-for-1 for the Argos, while
Taylor Mathews earned the Argos other hit, going 1-for-2.
In the Circle: Schweikert (0-1) took the loss, pitching four innings while allowing 10 runs on seven hits and putting away two.

The Argos will head to Caldwell, Idaho for their rescheduled series against the College of Idaho Yotes on Tuesday and Wednesday at 2 and 4 p.m.
