WHITEFISH, Mont. –
Parker Esary and
Emilee Maldonado were named First Team All-Conference, while
Tristan Murphy was recognized as All-Conference Honorable Mention.
The honor marks Esary's second-straight first team all-conference selection. Esary, a sophomore center from Kalama, Washington, has been a pinnacle of the Argos strength and power this season. She's averaging 13.53 points per contest and 9.87 rebounds per game, 4.73 of which are offensive. Esary's dominance in the paint has helped lead the team to a No. 7 ranking in the nation in total rebound margin, averaging nearly 10 more rebounds per contest than their opponents (9.74). On a national scale, Esary ranks fourth in the nation in offensive rebounds per game at 4.73, while also cracking the top-10 in field goal percentage, making 55.7 percent of her shots from the line.
Maldonado, a sophomore guard from Sunnyside, Washington, has been the Argos scoring champion throughout the 2018-19 campaign. She has averaged 15.87 points, in addition to 5.13 assists and 1.16 steals per game. She also ranks nationally, claiming the No. 9 spot in total assists with 159 on the season and No. 12 in assists per contest with 5.13. She was named honorable mention all-conference during her freshman season.
Murphy, a senior from Stanwood, Washington, has complimented Esary's play throughout the season, helping provide her rest while also adding much needed value off the bench. She has averaged 8.22 points, while also pulling down 6.48 rebounds and dishing out 1.19 assists per contest.
Elly Teske, a sophomore from Yakima, Washington, was honored as the Argos' Champion of Character. She has been another valuable bench asset playing in tandem with Esary and Murphy.
The Argos finished the regular season 18-12 and 7-11 in Frontier Conference play. They will look to receive an at-large bid to the NAIA National Tournament on Wednesday, March 6 at 4 p.m.
