PHOENIX, Ariz. – Argo men's golf remains in fourth following day two of the Frontier Conference Championships, sitting only four strokes behind the Lewis Clark Warriors who are in third.
The Argos improved by three strokes on Tuesday, carding a 311 (+23) over the 18 holes, while the Argos opened the tournament with a 314 (+26) during the opening round. The Argos currently have a 625 (+49) over the first two rounds.
Out of the current top-4 in the tournament, the Argos were the only school to improve their performance from yesterday, carding fewer strokes during the second round of the tournament than the opening round.
Jonny Cielak secured the No. 2 overall spot in the tournament on Tuesday as he continues to pace the Argos, producing another 2-over to sit at 4-over (148) through the first two rounds and heading into the final 18 holes.
Riley Lawrence improved from 13
th following round one to tie for 11
th on Tuesday, carding his second 78 (+6) during the second round.
Benjamin Kaul remained close behind Lawrence in 16
th after carding another 79 (+7) during the second round to sit 14-over for the tournament.
Cody Babinecz improved on day two by three strokes to card an even 80 (+8), while
Keaton Sunchild rounded out the Argos field with an 87 (+15) on Tuesday.
The Argos will look to continue to close the four-stroke gap with Lewis Clark during the final round of the Frontier Conference Championships on Wednesday. Tee time will once again be at 7:30 a.m.
