Rodeo Senior Spotlight: Stephanie Bartmess

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Stephanie Bartmess has had a great career throughout her four-year run as a student-athlete on the University of Providence Rodeo team, competing in barrel racing and breakaway roping.

Throughout Bartmess' rodeo career, she has won first at numerous rodeos and caught several breakaway calves, but her most fulfilling accomplishment has been her relationship with God.

"My biggest accomplishment was discovering my faith and learning how to trust in God's plan, even when I have a huge setback," expressed Bartmess. "Throughout my time at UP, I have missed a few seasons due to these setbacks, and they have propelled me forward in my faith. Faith is my biggest accomplishment."

For Bartmess, not only is her rodeoing a priority, but so is her academic pursues as she is double majoring in business administration and accounting.

"I worked hard and achieved my business administration degree early so that I could finish up my undergraduate and graduate degrees in accounting."

After graduation, Bartmess plans to continue her graduate degree in accounting at Providence, while also helping out with her family's business back home.

"My father owns Bob's Valley Market and Montana Valley Hams in Helena, and I am very proud to help out the family."
