PENDLETON, Ore. – The University of Providence softball team lost it's season debut against Eastern Oregon on Friday.
In the first game of the season, Eastern Oregon (2-10, 2-0) defeated Providence (0-2, 0-2)14-6 in six innings. In the second game of the doubleheader, the Mountaineers got up to a quick 7-0 lead in the first four innings. The Argos scored four runs in the 5
th, to make it interesting, but couldn't close the gap.
"This obviously wasn't the result we wanted," head coach
Joey Egan said. "It was our first game so I was expecting a little rust. Hopefully we respond better tomorrow."
The Argos hope to get revenge tomorrow when they take the Mountaineers on again at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
