Box Score GREAT FALLS, Mont. –
Zaccheus Darko-Kelly continued his exceptional hot streak by recording a triple-double to lead the #11 University of Providence men's basketball team to a 117-86 win over Rocky Mountain College.
After a
40-point game last night, Darko-Kelly checked out of the game with 20 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. This was his second triple-double of the season, as he recorded one
against Montana Western two weeks ago.
"There's really not much else to say about his performance right now," head coach
Steve Keller said. "This run he's on is pretty incredible."
Darko-Kelly was one of six Argos to score in double-figures. Senior
Brandon Cotton led the way with 21 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds while
Jaxen Hashley finished with 18 points and 7 rebounds.
Rashee Stocks scored 14 points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out three assists, while Jake Wetzel hit four three-pointers, all in the first half, to finish with 12 points.
Dawson Fowler recorded 10 points and 8 rebounds.
"It was a great team effort," head coach
Steve Keller said. "We had six guys in double figures and had 28 total assists.
Rashee Stocks played really well. Brandon had a good game. Wetzel had four threes in the first half. That helped us big time."
Though the final score ended up as a 31-point difference, the Argos went to the locker rooms with only a six-point lead. The Argos outscored the Battlin' Bears 63-38 in the second half to secure the victory.
"For some reason we couldn't get it going tonight," Keller said. "But these guys came to play in the second half. Credit to them they responded."
The win puts the Argos at 11-5, tied with Carroll for 2
nd place in the
Frontier Conference. The two teams will meet in Helena on Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m.
