WHITEFISH, Mont. – After leading her team in scoring in both games this weekend, University of Providence sophomore
Kenedy Cartwright has been named the Frontier Conference Player of the Week.
In a
big win over #19 Montana Western on Friday, Cartwright scored 17 points and grabbed 3 rebounds. On Saturday she scored a career-high 19 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, dished out 2 assists and recorded 2 steals in a
win over #19 Rocky Mountain.
"I'm really proud of Kenedy," head coach Bill Cartwright said. "Her play was big when our backs were against the wall. She's really grown up this year. She's been playing like an upperclassmen."
Cartwright is the fourth player on the team to win the conference player of the week award.
Jenna Randich was
given the award on Oct. 21,
Emilee Maldonado was
given the award Nov. 21, and
Parker Esary was
given the award on Feb. 10.
"To have four different girls win this award speaks a lot about this team," Himmelberg said. "We're okay with anyone leading the team in scoring on any night. All of our girls are okay with that. I'm glad that we are able to share the ball like that."
It's not going to get any easier for the Argos. The squad will travel to Helena on Thursday to face Carroll at 5:30 p.m.
