HELENA, Mont. – The #10 University of Providence men's basketball team fell to #17 Carroll 89-81 Thursday night.
The game was close throughout the entire game, but a late run in the second half secured the victory for the Fighting Saints.
The Argos shot 49% from the floor but were plagued by turnovers, committing 20 on the night. The Argos also missed nine free throws, shooting 63.6% from the line.
"We turned it over too much," head coach
Steve Keller said. "Turnovers and missed free throws were the difference tonight."
Jaxen Hashley led the Argos with 20 points and 16 rebounds.
Zaccheus Darko-Kelly recorded 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists.
Rashee Stocks scored 15 points while
Brandon Cotton contributed 10.
Jovan Sljivancanin and Dane Warp led the Saints with 23 points and 7 rebounds. Dennis Flowers added 16 points.
The Argos will conclude the regular season Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. in the McLaughlin Center vs. Montana State – Northern. The game will double as Senior Night, with a brief ceremony taking place a few minutes prior.
"We have a tough one on Saturday for senior night," Keller said. "We have to take care of the ball. We have to play better."
