DILLON, Mont. – The University of Providence cross country team's season came to an end on Friday morning at the Frontier Conference Championships in Dillon, Mont.
Nash Grafe finished the highest out of anyone on the team, finishing in 25
th place with a time of 28:50.3.
Ciaran Molloy finished in 29
th place with a time of 30:10.4.
Jon Johanson finished in 37
th place,
Chase Layton finished in 38
th and
Abian Jamerson finished in 39
th.
Doreen Koech led the way on the women's side, finishing in 26
th with a time of 22:09.0.
Grace Alexander and
Angie Sletten finished in 33
rd and 34
th place respectively, while
Natalie Montenegro and
Sloane Chapman finished in 36
th and 37
th place, respectively.
"They didn't perform like they wanted too," head coach
Tony Arntson said. "That's the way it goes some times. It's a learning experience for us as we continue to build this program."
The meet wraps up the season for the Argos, who showed significant improvement throughout the course of the season. The highlight of the season came roughly a month ago, when Grafe was
named the Frontier Conference Runner of the Week.
"I thought the kids improved overall on the year,"
Tony Arntson said. "They competed well. This will be a stepping stone for us. It's definitely a season to build on. We had a whole year off last year. We just have to use this as a stepping stone looking into next year."
