GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence to the top-seeded Raiders in both games that were played on Saturday. The Argos (2-16, 2-12) fell to the Raiders (28-2, 13-1) 8-0 in the first game and 12-0 in the second game.
"They pitched really well," head coach
Joey Egan said. "We had to put runs on the board. We only got two hits both games. We need to be able to get runners on base."
The Raiders got on board early in the first game, scoring two runs in the first inning. The Raiders never looked back, recording eight hits during the total game.
McKenzie Staats and Peyton Elliot recorded both of the hits for the Argos.
The Raiders started off hot in the second game when Lauren Quirke hit a two-run shot with a home run in the first inning. Peyton Elliot hit a double in the first inning, but no one could bring her home.
McKenzie Staats managed the other hit for the Argos.
The Argos will return home next week when they take on Northwest at home.
