DICKINSON, N.D. – The University of Providence men's wrestling team had four wrestlers win their weight class at the Tyler Plummer Classic in Dickinson, N.D. on Saturday.

Joel Avila (133 lbs.), Dustyn Camacho (285 lbs.), Payton Hume (174 lbs.) and Jordan Komac (165 lbs.) all finished first place at the tournament.

They weren't the only Argo wrestlers to find success as Andrew Macias (149 lbs.) and Hayden Schrull (184 lbs.) both finished third, while Caleb Birdwell (141 lbs.), Dougie Swanson (157 lbs.) and KJ Swanson (174 lbs.) each finished fourth. Dante Reviglio (141 lbs.) and Liam Swanson (197 lbs.) both finished 5th.

"We won a lot of matches today," head coach Steve Komac said. "We ended up with four champions. Western Wyoming was here, and they were tough on us earlier in the year. Everybody else that was here really challenged us. We did well today and we're excited about some of the things that we saw today."

The tournament marked the first competition back from injury for Joel Avila and Jordan Komac, while it served as a tune-up for several others that have been working themselves back to full health.

"All our guys returning from injuries, they did good," Komac said. "I don't think that they have reached their ceiling. They're definitely on the right track."

"Joel got revenge in his finals match. He pinned a guy that beat him earlier in the year. That's a great win for him. Jordan went out and won his first tournament back after a knee injury. That first week or two out isn't easy so that's great. Payton Hume sat out all of last year because of ACL surgery. It's taken awhile to get him prepared for competition. He looked fantastic. Dustyn Camacho won the first tournament of his college career. He's doing some good things."

The Argos had 11 of the 13 wrestlers they brought place at the tournament, which the coaching staff believes will lead to a confidence moving forward.

"I think it's very important to have success," Komac said. "We've been busting our butts all season long so I'm glad we saw the fruits of our labor. We had 10 kids place. Everybody got an opportunity to wrestle and have some matches today. It's a big confidence booster."

The Argos (3-4) will travel to Arizona for three conference duals next week. They'll wrestle Embry-Riddle and Vanguard on Friday before taking on Arizona Christian on Saturday.
