Great Falls, Mont. - Jamine Biava scored twice, once in each half to lift Corban University (Ore.) past the University of Providence 4-0 Saturday in Cascade Collegiate Conference soccer. Biava scored what would be the game-winner in the 14th minute off an assist from Aubrey Smith. Five minutes later, Fatima Jimenez put a ball past Argo goalie Kaitlyn Sisler to make it 2-0. Biava's second goal of the day came in the 60th minute followed by Makali Nance closing the scoring in the 81st. With the win, the Warriors completed a sweep on a trip to Montana after beating Rocky Mountain College Friday.
Corban outshot the Argos 28-6 with an 18-3 advantage in shots on goal. Biava and Jimenez finished with four shots each, three of which were SOG, Maria Juarez who had an assist, also put three shots on goal. Makida Herbert stopped all three shots she faced in goal. Corban sees its record improve to 9-2-3 overall, 5-1-3 in the Cascade. Providence was led by Dani Change who took three shots. Sisler made 13 saves, many of which stifled good looks from the Warriors. The Argos fell to 2-9-1 on the season and sit 2-6-1 in the CCC.
The Providence men also fell to Corban Saturday giving up two goals in each half in a 4-0 loss. Luis Lopez, Edison Jimenez, Yuki Onishi and Tristan Erispe each found the back of the net for the Warriors who outshot the Argos 16-2 and did not allow a shot on goal while tallying nine of their own. Jimenez and Reggie Reyes each had three shots for Corban which is now 14-1 overall, 9-1 in the Cascade. Providence falls to 0-9-1, 0-7-1.
The Argo men and women travel back west next weekend with matches at Warner Pacific and Multnomah.
