Caldwell, Idaho – The University of Providence women's soccer team played the 22nd ranked College of Idaho to a scoreless first half Saturday night in Caldwell, but four goals in the final 45 minutes from the Yotes resulted in a 4-0 win over the Argos. The Providence defense was big in the first half, keeping the Yotes off the scoreboard with solid back-end defense despite allowing 10 shots. Macee Cook stopped seven shots in total for the match as the College of Idaho found more room in the second half to score.

Taylor Ward and Dani Waialeale each had a shot on goal for Providence which falls to 1-8-1 overall, 1-5-1 in Cascade Conference play. Head Coach Heather Blandford says the Argos keep improving despite what the scoreboard says, "College of Idaho was everything we were expecting the number 22 ranked team in the NAIA to be. To hold them scoreless until halftime shows great improvement. We worked hard and defended well as a team. The next step for us is to continue to improve our confidence and composure on the ball. Our focus this week will be on our passing accuracy, off ball movement, and finishing our chances. We are looking forward to next week and playing in front of our home crowd."

The Providence men also played late Saturday night in Idaho and fell to the Yotes 4-1. Three goals in the first half by COI kept the pressure on the Argos who saw a good day offensively putting up 10 shots, eight of which were on goal. Jack Rimstad had three SOG, Mika Lankhof had two with Tomeu Nebot finding the back of the net in the 61st minute, his first tally of the season. Head Coach Will Hander says the guys played hard, "We played very well but little mistakes cost us. Despite the results, we had a good weekend."

After four straight road matches, the Providence men and women return home to Argo Field Friday and Saturday hosting Bushnell (Ore.) and Corban (Ore.). Matches will start at 1 PM and 3:30 PM each day and can be streamed live along with live stats at www.upargos.com.
