GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence strength and conditioning department announced that
Adysen Burns and
Caleb Werner have been named the February Student-Athletes of the Month.
Burns, a junior from Yakima, Washington, has developed as a leader in the weight room for the Argo volleyball team during their offseason lifts.
"Adysen is the life of the room," strength and conditioning coach
Will Seevers said. "She brings so much energy and enthusiasm to the team during lifting. Adysen does what it takes to get better and constantly pushes her limits. I have been impressed with her ability to step up as a vocal leader on the team. I can hear her encouraging and pushing her teammates throughout the workouts. Adysen keeps the team environment fun and competitive at the same time."
Werner, a sophomore from Tillamook, Ore., is a sophomore on the Argo men's wrestling team.
"Caleb has a motor that just doesn't stop," Seevers said. "He comes in each morning energized and ready to go. It's easy to see that he is here to work and get better every day. His teammates notice and talk about his work ethic and it makes the room more competitive. Caleb does all the small things right and is a great all-around person."
The Strength and Conditioning Athletes of the Month is awarded by the strength and conditioning staff to an athlete who
embodies the three core values of the the Argo Strength and Conditioning Philosophy: strength of discipline, strength of spirit and strength of unity.
