Taylor Mathews (softball),
Dante Montgomery (men's soccer),
Ivy Navarro (women's wrestling),
Jake Olsen (men's basketball) and
Jillian Sanchez (women's track and field) were all recognized as All-Americans by the NSCA.
"The NSCA is a globally-known organization, so it's very prestigious to be recognized as a Strength and Conditioning All-American," strength and conditioning coach
Will Seevers said. "All of them display discipline, consistency and character. I'm very proud of them."
Each student-athlete was nominated for the award by the strength and conditioning staff. The award is given to collegiate student-athletes whose athletic accomplishments and academic prominence reflect their dedicated efforts in the weight room.
"It's all the small things they do that really stand out," Seevers said. "This group holds their teammates accountable, show up early, put equipment back and inspire others. You don't win this award without standing out and going above and beyond the standard weight room requirements. These are all individuals that represent their team, coaches, and university to the highest degree. They are all hard workers and will do great things in life."
