Argos fall 4-0 to Northwest University

Jason Walker, UP Sports Information Director

Great Falls, Mont. - Northwest University (Wash.) outshot Providence 29-7 including a 16-5 advantage in shots on goal and the Eagles earned a 4-0 win Saturday in Great Falls. Trinity Mischel scored two minutes into the match and the Eagles kept up constant offensive pressure all day long to move to 2-0 on a road trip through Montana.

Maya Lewis, Kayla Soderstrom and Colette Liston also scored for Northwest which improved to 7-0-2 overall, 3-0-1 in Cascade Conference play. The first half saw the Argos defense keep the deficit at one, but 20 shots by the Eagles in the second half were too much to overcome. Soderstrom totaled six shots with Liston credited with four, while Hanne Breuer kept Providence out of the goal with five saves.

Brittany Burman led Providence with two shots with Reilyn Davis and Dani Chang each allowing two goals.

The Argos fell to 1-4-1 on the season, 1-1-1 in CCC play and next head out on the road for matches next weekend at Southern Oregon (Friday) and Oregon Tech (Saturday). For all information on Providence athletics, visit www.upargos.com.
