Ashland, Ore. - Evan Norconk scored twice to lead Southern Oregon to a 5-0 win over the Providence men's soccer team Friday afternoon. Norconk scored his first goal less than five minutes into the match and the Argos faced just the one goal difference at the half. His second came less than two minutes into the second half, and the Raiders scored three more times to drop the Argos to 0-4-1 overall, 0-3-1 in Cascade Conference play. Providence was outshot 26-5 including a 19-1 differential in shots on goal. Jack Rimstad had two shots; Jesus Pulido added one while Tomeu Nebot was credited with the lone SOG (shots on goal) for the Argos. Sam Fingers allowed five goals while making 13 saves.
Earlier in the day, the Providence women were outscored 4-0 as the SOU women tallied all their goals in the first half. Jasmine Gray scored the eventual game winner in the 14th minute and the Raiders added three more before the break. SOU outshot Providence 20-9 with an 11-5 SOG advantage. Taylor Ward and Ernestina Serwaa Ofori each had two shots to lead the Argos. Providence is now 1-5-1 overall, 1-2-1 in CCC action. Reilyn Davis stopped seven shots in goal.
