LA GRANDE, Ore. - KC Buday earned a 6-3 decision over Jay Smith and No. 8 Providence picked up a crucial Cascade Conference wrestling dual win 18-15 Friday night in La Grande over 10th-ranked Eastern Oregon. 

The match was tight throughout with no pins by either side with the teams rotating wins early on. Joel Avila, Dougie Swanson, Aden Graves and Buday all won by decision, Jordan Komac got the win by forfeit.  

Providence Head Coach Steve Komac was excited following the win, "It was a great team effort from the first match out through heavyweight. It was a tough dual and we expected nothing less from them. We have been incredibly pleased with the grit we have this season in tough matches and that is regardless of the outcome. Our team continues to gel, each individual continues to give us their best effort, and we are still getting better." 

The Argos improve to 7-1 in duals this season and have won four straight. Providence next wrestles January 20-21 at the Missouri Valley Invite in Marshall, Mo.
