GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's soccer program fell to Southern Oregon University 1-0 Friday afternoon.
The Raiders (11-2) struck first in the 17
th minute when the loose ball off a corner kick found the back of the net to give Southern Oregon a 1-0 lead.
The Argos (6-5-2) had a chance minutes later, but senior
Tomeu Nebot Schmalfeld's shot went high of the crossbar. UP was outshot 7-2 in the first half.
To start the second half the Argos pressured the Raiders, but freshman
Geovanni Lugo's cross into the box went just wide of freshman
Jose Vasquez.
Despite late pressure by the Argos, they were unable to find the equalizer as they fell to Southern Oregon 1-0.

Will Hander on his team's performance stated, "We did well executing our plan that we worked in during training this week, just got unlucky with the result. We will regroup and get ready for tomorrow."
The Argos return to action Saturday, Oct. 14 when they host Oregon Tech. The first touch is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Argo Field. Â Â
