GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- The University of Providence women's soccer program
fell 1-0 to Oregon Tech Saturday afternoon.
The Argos (2-10-1) had a chance midway through the first half when sophomore
Dani Waialeale found sophomore
Ernestina S. Ofori, but her cross was cleared away by the Owls defense.
In the second half the Argos had another scoring opportunity by junior
Malan Flygare's shot was saved by the Owl goalkeeper.
The Owls (4-5-3) nearly had a goal midway through the second half, but it was called back for offsides.
With five minutes left in the match Oregon Tech corralled the loose ball in front of the Argos net and were able to beat the goalkeeper for the go-ahead score.
Despite late pressure by the Argos, they were unable to find the equalizer losing the match 1-0.
The Argos return to action Friday, Oct. 20 when they visit Northwest University. The first touch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. in Kirkland, Wash. Â
