HELENA, Mont. – After leading #24 University of Providence to the upset victory over #4 Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday, graduate transfer Ashlee Maldonado has been named the Erk Hotels Frontier Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Maldonado is from Sunnyside, Wash. and put up 21pts, 8ast, 7reb, and 4stl in her Argo debut Saturday. In the fourth quarter alone, Maldonado had 10pts, 4ast, and 3stls while being responsible for 19-21 of the Argos fourth quarter points.

Maldonado is the first Argo to win player of the week since last November when senior Maddy Dixon took home the award. She is the fifth Argo in the last three seasons to be named player of the week joining Dixon, Brooklyn Harn, Parker Esary, and Emilee Maldonado.

Head coach Bill Himmelberg on Maldonado's performance stated, "Ashlee did an unbelievable job leading our team and stepping up down the stretch. I'm really proud of how she was able to take control of the game in the fourth quarter and continually put us in a position to be successful."
