GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's soccer team tied Eastern Oregon University 1-1 Saturday afternoon.
The Mountaineers (2-6-4) struck first in the 8
th minute when Kyle Pruisa found Jodanni Osuna at the top of the box who beat the goalkeeper to make it 1-0.
Argos (6-4-2) would respond eight minutes later when senior
Tomeu Nebot Schmalfeld's free kick from the corner found freshman
Jose Vasquez whose header tied the match at one.
Midway through the first half EOU had point blank opportunity, but freshman
Teddy Benbow denied the Mountaineers and kept the match tied at one.
Five minutes later the Argos had a chance when a soft pass back to the goalkeeper was nearly intercepted by Vasquez.
Despite late pressure from the Argos in the second half, they were unable to find the go-ahead goal as the match ended in a 1-1 tie.

Will Hander stated, "Both teams played hard. We did not execute how we expected to and will have to regroup and get ready for next week."
The Argos return to action Friday, Oct. 13 when they host Southern Oregon University. The first touch is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Argo Field.
