LEBANON, Tenn. – The University of Providence women's basketball program defeated Lindsey Wilson College 72-61 Friday night.

Each side would trade buckets, but the Blue Raiders (2-1) would respond with a 6-0 run to end the first quarter to take their first lead of the game 19-17.
To start the second quarter Lindsey Wilson stayed hot scoring the first nine points to extend their lead to nine. A layup by Maldonado would end the run, but three straight layups by the Blue Raiders made it 34-21.
The Argos would end the first half on a 8-2 run behind a pair of layups by freshman
Keanna Salave'a to cut the deficit to seven going into halftime.
In the third quarter the Argos outscored Lindsey Wilson 16-9 behind 10 points by Maldonado and 10 rebounds by Salave'a to tie the game at 45 heading into the fourth quarter.
Despite the Blue Raiders taking a 51-48 lead, UP would end the game on a 24-10 run defeating Lindsey Wilson 72-61.
Maldonado led the way with 27pts and Salave'a added 20pts and 28 rebounds of her own. 28 rebounds for Salave'a is a new school record for the most rebounds in a single game.
The Argos will be back in action Nov. 11 when they face Cumberland University. Tip-off is scheduled for Noon (MST) at the Dallas Floyd Phoenix Arena.
