SPOKANE, Wash. -- The University of Providence men's wrestling program competed at the Spokane Open throughout the day Sunday.

The Argos had three wrestlers place second at the Spokane open in redshirt sophomore Raf LeaPaga, redshirt junior Caleb Werner, and redshirt freshman Aidan Go. UP also had four wrestlers place third in redshirt freshman Na'u McBrayer, freshman Pig Hobbs, redshirt sophomore #21 ranked Ethan DeRoche, and redshirt freshman Tristan Bremer.

Werner went 3-1 on the day pinning David Darroch in his opening match, and then defeating Chandler Loveless 11-1 and Cade Gubler 4-2 before falling to Noah Poe-Hatten 10-8 in the championship match.

Go went 3-1 at the Spokane Open pinning Abel Costa in his first match, defeating Ethan Boulton 5-4, and defeating Brenon McDermott 10-7 before falling 18-14 to #15 ranked Jeramiah Steele in the first-place match.

LeaPaga went 4-1 on the day including two pins in under a minute. He pinned Jorge Rodriguez in 40 seconds and pinned Jimmy Green in 38 seconds. LeaPaga also defeated AJ Harris 20-5 and Darrian Hoobery 2-1.

Hobbs and redshirt freshman Blaze Sumiye also provided highlights with Hobbs going 5/5 getting pins in all five of his victories on the day and Sumiye defeating NJCAA #8 ranked Conan Northwind.

The Argos will be back in action Dec. 1-2 when they host the Battle of the Rockies. The matches will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the McLaughlin Center.
