HELENA, Mont. – The University of Providence women's basketball program fell to Southern Oregon University 64-48 Friday night.

The Raiders (3-0) scored the first six points of the game behind a pair of free throws and a layup by Kami Walk to open the contest.

The Argos (7-1) would answer with a layup by freshman Keanna Salave'a, but more free throws and a three-pointer by SOU extended the Raider lead to 10.

Southern Oregon continued their momentum into the second quarter increasing their lead to 14, but six straight points by Salave'a brought the game back within 10.  

SOU would end the half on a 6-0 run to go into break leading by 16.

The Argos scored the first points of the second half when graduate transfer Ashlee Maldonado sank a pair of free throws and Salave'a made her fifth layup of the game.

UP would cut the Raiders lead to nine, but back-to-back three-pointers by SOU increased their lead to 15 going into the fourth quarter.

Despite cutting the SOU lead to 13, UP was unable to bring the game within striking distance falling to the Raiders 64-48. 

The Argos will be back in action Nov. 25 when they wrap up the Thanksgiving Classic in Helena, Mont. Tip-off versus #10 LC State is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the PE Center.
