Argos Host Battle of the Rockies

GREAT FALLS, MONT. -- The University of Providence women's wrestling program hosts the Battle of the Rockies starting on Dec. 1. The Argos will open with the Battle of the Rockies tournament at 9:00 a.m. on Friday and will follow with duals on Saturday starting at 4:00 p.m.    

Last Time Out
The Argos brought home titles with #1 ranked sophomore Erin Hikiji placing first at 101 and #2 ranked junior Waipuilani Estrella-Beauchamp taking first at 136. Hikiji went 4-0 on the day with three tech falls and one pin. She outscored her opponents 30-0 including her 10-0 defeat of #4 Tianna Fernandez in the championship match. Estrella-Beauchamp also went 4-0 with two wins and two decision victories. She defeated #7 Zaynah McBryde in the semi-finals and pinned River Todd in 30 seconds to take home the championship at 136.

Battle of the Rockies
Along with the #6 ranked Argos, #2 Menlo College, University of Calgary, Dickinson State, University of Alberta, Umpqua Community College, and Dakota Wesleyan will be competing in the McLaughlin Center on Saturday.
Head Coach Matt Attwood on the matchup stated, "We're excited to get back on the mat! We've had a long break since our last competition, and it will be good to be able to compete in front of our home crowd."
