GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's basketball program defeated Alberta-Augustana 102-41 Friday afternoon.
The Vikings (2-8) would score the first points of the game when Colby Anderson found Ryan Degner for a layup.
The Argos (6-3) would answer with a jumper from senior
Davien Harris-Williams and a breakaway dunk by senior
Jaylin Reed to put the Argos ahead by two.
The game would be tied at four until UP went on an 18-1 run to increase their lead to 14 eight minutes into the half.
The Vikings would hit back-to-back three pointers but a 12-0 run by the Argos made it 40-11 with six minutes left in the half. Both sides would trade buckets the rest of the way as UP went into the break leading 49-24.
The Argos started the second half on a 35-1 run to put the game out of reach as they came away with a 102-41 victory over the Vikings.
Harris-Williams led the way for the Argos with 18 pts on 8-9 shooting and senior
Freddy Brown III added 17 points going 7-9 from the field as well.
The Argos will be back in action Dec. 16 when they travel to Chandler, Ariz. for the Cactus Classic. Tip off versus Marian University is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. (MST) at the Coyote Center.
