Frontier tournament schedule set for this weekend

Argo men and women ready for postseason

GREAT FALLS, Mont. - The University of Providence men and women are gearing up for the Frontier Conference basketball championships to be held Sunday, Feb. 26 – Tuesday, Feb. 28 at the Pacific Steel Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls.  

The Argo women are the No. 4-seed and will open the tournament at 1 p.m. Sunday taking on No. 5-seed Montana Tech. The Argos won 2 of 3 matchups between the teams in the regular season.  

For the first time since the 2007-08 season the tourney will be played at a single site.  

Frontier Conference Women's Basketball Championship 

Top-seeded Carroll College and second-seeded Montana Western receive first round byes. 

No. 1 – Carroll College (14-1, 23-5) 
No. 2 – Montana Western (12-3, 24-4) 
No. 3 – Rocky Mountain College (10-5, 18-9) 
No. 4 – University of Providence (5-10, 15-13) 
No. 5 – Montana Tech (3-12, 7-18) 
No. 6 – MSU-Northern (1-14, 8-20) 

Quarterfinals - Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023 
No. 5 Montana Tech vs No. 4 University of Providence, 1 p.m. 
No. 6 MSU-Northern vs No. 3 Rocky Mountain College, 3 p.m. 

Semifinals - Monday, Feb. 27, 2023 
Lowest remaining seed vs No. 1 Carroll College, 1 p.m.* 
Highest remaining seed vs No. 2 Montana Western, 3 p.m.* 
*The starting times for the Monday semi-final round could change due to possible high school challenge games. 

Championship Games – Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023 
Women's Championship, Lowest remaining seed vs highest remaining seed 5 p.m. 

The Providence men are the No. 2-seed and received a first round bye thanks to owning tiebreakers over MSU-Northern and Carroll College. Regular season champion Montana Tech also received a bye into Monday's Semifinals. The Argos will play Monday night against the highest remaining seed.

All games will be broadcast by the University of Providence on the Frontier Conference YouTube channel, as well as SWX-TV. AM 1450 in Great Falls will also air the games on radio. Live stats and more for all Frontier games will be available at www.upargos.com.
