SALEM, Ore. -- The University of Providence women's soccer program fell 3-1 to Corban University Friday afternoon.

The Warriors (3-3-4) threatened early but were unable to get past junior goalkeeper Maya Amundson as she picked up a pair of saves.

The Argos (2-5-1) would strike first after a corner kick by senior Julia Tilton was headed past the goalkeeper by sophomore Dani Waialeale for her second goal of the year.  

Corban University had a chance late in the first half, but the Warriors shot was too high and sailed over the crossbar. UP was out shot 15-3 in the first 45 minutes.

The Warriors came storming back early in the second half scoring two goals in two minutes to retake the lead 2-1.  

Corban would extend their lead in the 55^th minute when a cross into the box found Alysia Alvarado who beat the goalkeeper to make it 3-1.

The Argos had a chance in the 59^th minute but freshman Shea Waters' shot was saved by the Warriors.

Despite some late pressure by the Argos, they were unable to get past the Warriors defense losing the match 3-1.

The Argos will be back in action Saturday, Sept. 30 when they visit Bushnell University. The first touch is scheduled for 4 p.m. (MDT) in Eugene, Ore.
