EDMONTON AB, Canada -- The University of Providence women's wrestling program had 12 wrestlers place top five at the Golden Bear Open Saturday.
The Argos had two athletes take first place in #2 junior
Waipuilani Estrella-Beauchamp and sophomore
Katelyn Lewis.
Estrella-Beauchamp went 3-0 on the day pinning her first two opponents and winning an 8-4 decision in the championship match. Lewis was 2-0 at the Golden Bear Open pinning both of her opponents in under a minute on her way to a first-place finish.
The Argos also had a wrestler place second in freshman
Kayla Vail. Vail won both of her first two matches via pin but fell in the championship match to Sierra Mullin.

The Argos will be back in action Jan. 26-27 for the Warrior Open in Fort Wayne, Indiana. UP will begin wrestling at 7:00 a.m. (MDT) in the Doug Edgar Indoor Track Facility.
