BILLINGS, Mont. -- The University of Providence volleyball program fell to #2 University of Jamestown 3-0 Thursday night.
In the first set against the Jimmies (14-0) the Argos (15-4) jumped out to a 6-4 lead behind a pair of kills from junior
Ryann Eddins. Jamestown would slowly cut into the Argo lead until the Jimmies scored five straight to go ahead by five. Junior
Sadie Giles would add a late kill, but the Jimmies would maintain their lead taking the first set 25-20.
In set two the Jimmies grabbed an early 8-4 lead, and despite kills from senior
Nina Janjic and Eddins, Jamestown scored four of the last five points of the set to take the second 25-16.
The third set was back-and-forth until six straight from the Argos courtesy of a kill and block by junior
Franny Martins put UP ahead 15-8. The Jimmies would slowly cut into the Argo lead tying the set at 16. Both teams would go back and forth the rest of the way until Jamestown score the final three points to take the third set 30-28 and the match 3-0.
The Argos are back in action tomorrow, Oct. 11 when face Dickinson State University. Game time is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. in Billings, Mont. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
