LA GRANDE, Ore. –
The University of Providence women's soccer program fell to Eastern Oregon 3-1 Friday night.
The Mountaineers (5-3-2) jumped in front when a deep shot from Eastern Oregon just got over the goalkeeper's outstretched hands to make it 1-0.
Less than a minute later EOU extended their advantage to two, but with eight minutes remaining in the half sophomore
Shea Waters's pass over the defense found senior
Ernestina S. Ofori who chipped it past the goalkeeper to cut the lead in half.
Neither side would threaten the rest of the half as the Argos (5-5-1) went into the break trailing 2-1.
The Mountaineers would add a goal to begin the second half, and despite a late shot from Waters, the Argos fell to Eastern Oregon 3-1.
The Argos will be back in action tomorrow, Oct. 12, when they travel to Caldwell, Idaho. The first touch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. (MST) versus #11 The College of Idaho. Â Â Â
