CALDWELL, Idaho. – The University of Providence men's soccer program fell 6-3 to The College of Idaho Saturday night.
The Argos (3-8) jumped in front early when senior
Tomeu Nebot Schmalfeld's free kick was kicked out of the air by sophomore
Geovanni Lugo and off the crossbar, but sophomore
Gino Badalow kicked in the rebound to put UP ahead 1-0.
The Yotes would respond in the 16
th minute with a goal of their own, but the Argos answered when Schmalfeld took the ball down the sideline and dibbled through three defenders before going short side top corner to beat the goalkeeper.
The Yotes would add a pair of goals the rest of the half to take a 3-2 lead into the break.
The College of Idaho scored three unanswered goals to begin the second half, and despite a late goal from freshman
Noah Watson, UP fell to the Yotes 6-3. Â
The Argos will be back in action Oct. 18 when they travel to Klamath Falls, Ore. First touch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. (MST) versus Oregon Tech.
