Argos Fall to Owls

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The University of Providence men's soccer program fell to Oregon Tech 4-0 Friday afternoon.

The Owls (7-5-2) scored the first goal of the contest when a cross into the box connected with an Oregon Tech attacker to put the Owls ahead 1-0.

The Argos (1-11) had a few chances the rest of the half from senior Bryan Olivera and sophomore Hugo Gil, but neither were able to capitalize as UP went into the break trailing 1-0.

Oregon Tech threatened coming out of the half scoring in the 54th minute to extend their lead two.

UP would continue to pressure with shots from senior Bryan Olivera, sophomore Geovanni Lugo, and senior Tomeu Nebot Schmalfeld, but none were able to find the back of the net.

Oregon Tech would score a pair of late goals and despite late shots from junior Stevie Goode, Schmalfeld, and Gil, the Argos fell to the Owls 4-0.

The Argos will be back in action tomorrow, Oct. 18, when they travel to Ashland, Ore. The first touch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. (MST) versus Southern Oregon.
