KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. –
The University of Providence women's soccer program fell to Oregon Tech 4-0 Friday afternoon.
The Owls (9-4-1) scored the first goal of the contest when a free kick from just outside the box went off the crossbar and into the back of the net to put Oregon Tech ahead 1-0.
Midway through the half the Argos (5-7-1) had a chance off senior
Malan Flygare's corner kick but it was quickly cleared away by the Owl defense.
Oregon Tech threatened late in the first half but neither side could add another goal as UP went into the break trailing 1-0.
The Owls scored five minutes into the second half to extend their lead to two, and a minute later the Argos had a chance when the loose ball popped out to sophomore
Shea Waters, but her shot went just high of the crossbar.
Oregon Tech would score a pair of goals the rest of the way, and despite late pressure from UP, the Argos fell to the Owls 4-0. Â
The Argos will be back in action tomorrow, Oct. 18, when they travel to Ashland, Ore. The first touch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. (MST) versus Southern Oregon. Â Â Â Â
