ASHLAND, Ore. –
The University of Providence women's soccer program fell to Southern Oregon 1-0 Saturday afternoon.
The Argos (5-8-1) had the first chance of the game by way of freshman
Holly St. Germain's shot from outside of the box, but it was caught by the goalkeeper.
The Raiders (7-5-1) answered with a chance of their own a few minutes later but freshman goalkeeper
Chloe Pajaro was able to dive and stop the bouncing shot.
The Argos would continue to pressure and were able to get junior
Kailey Camper in open space but her shot was saved by the goalie as UP went into the break tied at zero.
UP started the second half in the offensive zone with shots by senior
Malan Flygare and freshman
Brooklyn Poole, but neither were able to find the mark.
The Raiders scored the first goal of the contest in the 69th minute, and despite late shot from senior
Ernestina S. Ofori, the Argos fell to Southern Oregon 1-0.
The Argos will be back in action Oct. 25, when they host The Evergreen State College. The first touch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. (MST) in Great Falls, Mont. Â
