GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's basketball program cruised to a 125-74 victory over Northwest Indian College Friday night.
The Argos (1-4) scored the first basket of the game off a layup from senior Nikolajs Atanasovs, but a three on the other end from the Eagles put Northwest Indian College ahead 3-2.
UP answered with a 10-0 run behind a pair of layups from junior Brendan Redhead and a dunk from senior Jamil Bowles to make it 12-3.
The Argos slowly extended their lead out to 15 midways through the half, and following a basket from the Eagles a 17-4 run from UP put the Argos ahead 62-31 heading into the break.
Northwest Indian College scored the first basket of the second half, but the Argos would not let the Eagles get within 30 the rest of the way as UP cruised to an 125-74 victory. 10 Argos scored in double figures with seniors Jamil Bowles and Antoine Boyd Jr. leading the way with 15 apiece.
The Argos will be back in action Saturday, Nov. 16 when they host Benedictine University Mesa. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. in Great Falls, Mont. Â Â
