DES MOINES, Iowa. -- The University of Providence men's wrestling program competed at the Grand View Open throughout the day Saturday.
Six Argos picked up ranked victories on Saturday in seniors
Caleb Werner,
Dougie Swanson, juniors
Aden Graves,
Bridger Hall, and sophomores
Tristan Bremer and
Chase Youso.
Graves was the highest placer for UP finishing 4-2 for a fourth-place finish and picked up his ranked win over #19 Hayden Brown of Oklahoma City 13-3.
Werner defeated the highest ranked wrestler of the day pinning #11 Eric Karas of Eastern Oregon in 1:18. Youso and Bremer both picked up their first ranked wins of the season over #16 Joseph Teguia and #12 Donovan Parn via decision, respectively.
Hall and Swanson also defeated ranked wrestlers with Hall defeating #19 Jayden Terronez of St. Ambrose 11-2 and Swanson beating #21 Jaxon Morlan of Eastern Oregon 14-3.
The Argos will be back in action Nov. 24 when they compete at the Spokane Invite. Wrestlers will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will compete throughout the day. Â Â Â Â Â Â
