Lucky Lovan can nominate one athlete per sport to be a National Strength and Conditioning Association All-American each year.
The University of Providence nominates two athletes per month to reward the student-athletes hard work and dedication to the weight room. This puts them in contention to be named a NSCA strength and conditioning All-American.
Murphy is from Ballantine, Mont. and is entering her first year with the track and field program at UP. Lovan stated, "Harlie is one of the hardest workers on the track team. She constantly shows up and gives her best effort every lift no matter how she's feeling. She gives a 110% effort and sells out on every exercise. She has a very bright future and can't wait to watch her succeed at UP!"
Chavez is from Fresno, Calif. and is currently in his first season with the basketball team at UP. Head strength and conditioning coach Lucky Lovan stated, "Ryan immediately made his presence known in the weight room and basketball court. He's locked in, always engaged with each lift. He continuously asks questions and is finding ways to be better. I'm very hopeful that he will do great things at UP!"
