LAGRANDE, Ore. -- The University of Providence men's wrestling program competed at the Mountaineer Open throughout the day Sunday.
The Argos had five wrestlers place in the top three at the Mountaineer Open in freshman
Spencer Johnson, sophomores
Hunter Dyer,
Irish Furthmyre,
Ezra Clemens, and senior
Tanner Ulrey.
Johnson went 3-0 on the day on his way to a first-place finish pinning two opponents and winning his semifinal match in sudden victory 8-5 versus #12 Michael Moreno of Arizona Christian. Dyer and Furthmyre both went 3-1 on their way to second place finishes, winning their first three matches before falling in the championship match.
Ulrey and Clemens also had solid days on Sunday with Clemens finishing 3-1 and Ulrey 4-1 for third place finishes at the Mountaineer open.
The Argos will be back in action Nov. 6 when they host #19 MSU-Northern. Wrestlers will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Great Falls, Mont. Â Â Â Â
