CALDWELL, Idaho. – The University of Providence men's basketball program fell to #2 The College of Idaho 97-73 Friday night.
The Yotes (1-0) scored the first point of the game, but a three on the other end from junior Brendan Redhead put the Argos (0-3) ahead 3-1. Â
Both sides would trade baskets until a pair of jumpers from senior Nikolajs Atanasovs and a three-pointer from senior Antoine Boyd Jr. put the Argos ahead 13-9 five minutes into the game.
Each team went back and forth over the next 10 minutes with neither team grabbing a lead by more than three until free throws and a three-pointer from the Yotes put The College of Idaho ahead 38-33 with just over one minute remaining in the first.
The Yotes would extend their lead to 10 the rest of the half as the Argos went into the break trailing 43-33.
The College of Idaho started the second half with a 14-4 run, and the Argos were unable to get within 10 the rest of the way as UP fell to #2 Yotes 97-73.
The Argos will be back in action Saturday, Nov. 9 when they face #25 LC State. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. (MST) in Caldwell, Idaho. Â
