HELENA, Mont. – After leading the Argos to victories over Olivet Nazarene and Huntington University, sophomore Keanna Salave'a has been named the Offensive and Defensive Frontier Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Salave'a is from Vancouver, Wash. and put up a pair of double doubles scoring 26 and 18 points while tallying 23 and 15 rebounds over the two victories. Keanna also added 4 blocks per game while shooting 70.6% from the field. Salave'a is the first Argo to win both the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards in the same week.
This is Salave'a's second player of the week award this season and fourth of her career after taking home the award twice in 2023-2024. Keanna is the sixth Argo in the last four seasons to be named player of the week joining Ashlee Maldonado, Maddy Dixon, Brooklyn Harn, Parker Esary, and Emilee Maldonado.  Â
Head coach Bill Himmelberg on Keanna's performance stated, "Keanna did a great job taking over the game on the offensive and defensive end this week. She was all over the boards and was able to lock down the paint with her defense. I'm looking forward to her constant progression as she continues to become a dominant force in our league."
Argos will be back in action Jan. 4 when they travel to Helena, Mont. for the Frontier Conference opener. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. (MST) versus #21 Carroll College. Â Â Â
