GREAT FALLS, Mont. - - The University of Providence softball program split in a pair of games versus Warner Pacific on Saturday.
In game one the Argos jumped in front when junior
Sydnee Weber hit a SAC fly to right field to score graduate transfer
Madi Moore from third.
UP would make it 2-0 in the bottom of the second after sophomore
Kolbi Wood doubled to center field to score freshman
Aspen Dawson.
In the bottom of the fourth the Argos took control of the game after junior
Ryen Palmer hit a triple to right center field and senior
Macy Mangold singled to center to put the Argos ahead by four.
The Argos continued their momentum in the bottom of the fifth when Palmer hit a two RBI single to left to secure the Argos 7-0 victory over Warner Pacific. Senior
Deven Creech threw the first three innings and Moore threw the last four and combined for six strikeouts in the victory.
In game two, Warner Pacific put the first runs across in the top of the first but back-to-back doubles from senior
Azia Umphrey and Weber tied the game at two.
The Knights would score five unanswered, and despite a two RBI single from sophomore
Marilyn Comack, the Argos fell to Warner Pacific 7-4.
