Argo Athletics Adds Two Teams to 2024 Hall Of Fame Class

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence has announced two of its all-time best teams will be joining the 2024 five-member class into the Argo Athletics Hall of Fame.

The 2006 Women's Volleyball team and the 2014 Men's Wrestling Team will both be joining Arunas Duda, Anthony Varnell, Erin Legel, Alex Lowry, and Madison Wilhelm into the Argo Athletics Hall of Fame in 2024.

The 2006 volleyball team consisted of Jennifer Peterson, Marissa Stanchfield, Lesly Richter, Carlina Hapke, Kari Schiller, Dano Blair, Kami Motta, Jodi Miller, Cali Buck, Claudia Jacobs, Samantha Bull, Rachel Escosia, Brittany Prater, Lindsay Toone, Kim Wright, Lora Weitzel, Brianne Goudey, Nicole Johnson, and Cortney Thoren as athletes, and Arunas Duda, Mary Lester, and Pam Kavadas as coaches. The 2006 team finished 21-8 overall and 12-2 in conference and was the first team to win a conference championship after the University dropped athletics in the early 80's.

The 2014 men's wrestling team consisted of Luke Schlosser, Michael Ruiz, Kyle Wilson, Ryan Martin, Chad Cebulski, Nicholas Schmidt, Shawn Lau, Brock Picard, Taylor Vaughn, Kamron Jackson, Jared Berlinger, and Chase Burns as athletes, and Caleb Schaeffer, Michael French, Nick Budeski, and Ty Vinson as coaches.

The 2014 team placed second at the NAIA National Championships for the highest team result in program history where Ruiz, Wilson, Martin, Cebulski, and Lau earned All-American status. On the 20th anniversary of wrestling at the University of Providence they will see their names enshrined as one of the most decorated teams in Argo Athletics history.
