GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- The University of Providence women's soccer team
dominated Walla Walla University defeating the Wolves 10-0 Friday afternoon.
The Argos (3-1-1) scored the first goal of the game in the 15
th minute when senior
Ernestina S. Ofori beat the goalkeeper for her third goal of the year.
Only a minute later the Argos would extend their lead to two when senior
Malan Flygare found junior
Kailey Camper who found the back of the net.
The Argos would continue their momentum with another pair of goals in the 20
th and 25
th minutes when Ofori got her second goal of the half and freshman
Andriah Watson scored her first goal as an Argo.
UP scored another three goals in the first half including a third for Ofori for her first career hat trick, and Flygare scored in the 32
nd and 38
th minute to put UP ahead 7-0 at halftime.
The Argos would continue to dominate in the second half when Ofori scored her fourth and fifth goals of the game and freshman
Holly St. Germain added her second on the season to make it 10-0. Five goals in a single game tied the program record for most goals in a single game and 10-0 is also the largest margin of victory in program history.
The Argos will be back in action Sunday, Sept. 22 when they host Rocky Mountain College. The first touch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. (MST) in Great Falls, Mont.
