The University of Providence men's soccer program fell to Rocky Mountain College 1-0 Sunday afternoon.
The Argos (2-3) had the first chance of the game when senior
Tomeu Nebot Schmalfeld's corner kick went right to senior
Marcus John, but his chip shot was saved by the goalkeeper.
UP would have another pair of chances when Schmalfeld and senior
Vincent Stoppel had opportunities on corner kicks, but neither were able to capitalize.
The Battlin' Bears would score the first goal when Espoir Mayel's cross found Paul Randello who chipped it past the goalkeeper.
The Argos had one last chance as time expired in the first, but senior
Geovanni Lugo's shot was saved.
The second half saw pressure from both teams, and despite a few chances from Schmalfeld and freshman
Noah Watson, the Argos fell 1-0 to Rocky Mountain College.
The Argos will be back in action Sept. 27 when they travel to Portland, Ore. The first touch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. (MST) against Warner Pacific.
